Robert Newey
Robert Newey is an English lawyer based in London. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in the UK.
Robert handles both direct and indirect business tax issues. In the field of indirect tax he has frequently advised on cross-border supplies of services, as well as on VAT issues for non-profit organisations. In the direct tax field, he advises on cross-border investments, corporate reorganisations and issues such as transfer pricing. His specialist legal practice (Robert Newey & Co) shares premises and resources with Chown Dewhurst LLP.
He speaks and writes regularly. He recently wrote a new chapter on European direct tax law for EC Company Law. He has also written case notes for European Taxation on the same subject. He also writes and speaks about electronic commerce. He runs the postgraduate course in international tax law at the University of Essex as a visiting lecturer.
