He has been active on City of London Committees and CEE countries and has takein part in many outward missions and inward visits by ministers and others. A co-founder and Executive Committee member of the Institute for Fiscal Studies, he  served on the Taxation and Economic Committee of the Institute of Directors, is a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers, (former member of their Taxation and Technical Committee) and was for many years on the London Committee of the International Fiscal Association. Business apart, he is on the Committees of the London Handel Society and Cambridge Handel Opea and is Honorary Financial Adviser to the Royal Society of Musicians.
